Bauer had his first soccer game today. He was so excited to go play and oh-my-goodness, what a cute little soccer player! I loved it! And he did so well! I was afraid that he would be too shy and that he would just crab onto my leg and say that he didn't want to play but he wasn't like that at all. He got out there when Brian told him to and he ran and kicked and even stopped a goal. Brian did a great job coaching too. He got the kids all organized and helped them remember which side they were supposed to kick to and he substituted kids when they told him they needed a rest. He was great. One of my favorite parts of the game was when the game started because the kids were all lined up across from the other team and one kid was set to kick off. He kicked and everyone just stood there. The entire team stood in their beautifully straight line and watched the ball roll while the sideline all yelled "go. Kick it. Get the ball." It wasn't until Brian called them each by name that they started to go after the ball. They don't keep score in this age group but we scored at least 7 or 8 times and I think the other team only scored twice and one of them was our team scoring for them. Anyways, it was a great game and tons of fun and Bauer had a blast so we are very excited.
